Proofpoint is looking for a high-energy Engineering Director to join the Intelligence Insights and Response group. We are looking for someone who would expand the core Unified Platform team that provides standard front-end and data services for multiple products. Someone passionate about continuously using cutting-edge technologies to improve the products, team, and release velocity. Your day-to-day As the engineering leader, inspire technical conversations, create roadmaps, and own end-to-end technical solutions that impact multiple product deliverables. Collaborate with Cross product engineering architects, Product Management, and work with various stakeholders across the company to build a solid platform for Proofpoint. Lead architecture reviews, identify risks, and advocate for simplicity of design and iteratively deliver through an agile methodology. Enable the culture of growth and mentorship to all roles in the organization. Mentor junior engineers in the team, recommend suitable technologies, and advocate for engineering best practices. Provide a good balance between tackling technology debt and developing new features. Promote and shape the friendly and collaborative culture of the engineering organization. Help the team to operate at their maximum potential. What you bring to the team: 10 years of software engineering experience and 5 years of building and managing engineering teams. Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate teams to produce high-quality software with velocity. Solid knowledge of front-end technologies and experience incorporating technologies that allow high quality and high release velocity. Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, client-server architectures that ultimately deliver snappy user interaction Strong problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial attitude. Ability to attract and hire great software engineers, build collaborative teams, and lead and mentor the team. Experience growing people and engineering teams and possess a can-do attitude. In-depth understanding of running production service with 24/7 support and monitoring. BS/BA in a software-related field or equivalent experience.
