The Detection team is at the core of the Cyber Defense program and supports other components - like threat hunting and incident response - in their smooth and timely operations. The Enterprise Information Security Detect team provides the core of security engineering to build and operate the capabilities required to protect a global enterprise. This role will offer the opportunity to contribute to a global infrastructure which spans a multi-cloud environment. As a Security Engineer, your primary focus will be to own and manage Motorola Solutions’ corporate Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) environment with a multi-TB daily ingest. The successful candidate will be driven by a passion to take charge of an environment that processes multiple TB of logs per day and mold it into greater efficiency, utility, and scaled to work around the world. The individual filling this role will have a significant impact on the maturity of Motorola Solutions' security program. Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations Implementation, administration, and support of enterprise level SIEM in a clustered multi-cloud environment Analyze and regularly review SIEM implementation and data ingestion to improve usage and effectiveness Engage other teams and business units to identify and remedy gaps in coverage Work with Enterprise Information Security team members to develop alerts and playbooks from identified security events Support the full system engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, documentation, and implementation. Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills 3 years experience with SIEM platforms in a clustered multi-cloud environment Knowledge of enterprise logging and monitoring best practices Experience with scripting languages and APIs Knowledge of threat vectors, attack methodologies, and actors Experience with enterprise level security tools and platforms Understanding the intricacies of data pipelines Analyzing logs for signs of malicious behavior Security alert, dashboard, and playbook development Possess an innovative mindset to uncover new efficiencies Solid understanding of endpoint security concepts and defense in depth Security Certifications (e.g. Security , CHFI, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP) Preferred Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing Must have strong organizational skills Must work well in a team environment This role can be remote anywhere in the US.
