Pay Range: $24.08 - $33.72 Hourly Department: Department of Community Justice (DCJ) Job Type: Regular Non-Represented Exemption Status: United States of America (Non-Exempt) Closing Date (Open Until Filled if No Date Specified): September 11, 2022 The Opportunity: OVERVIEW The Department of Community Justice (DCJ) is currently recruiting for a full-time Human Resources Technician. As a Human Resources Technician, you will be able to sharpen your human resources knowledge and skills and cultivate strong working relationships with the DCJ Human Resources team, DCJ employees and managers, and the county’s HR partners. You will provide overall coordination of the DCJ training calendar, schedule classes and other logistics, act as liaison with trainers, and ensure accurate data is captured in systems and share this confidential information with state agencies. Your excellent customer service skills, accuracy, and attention to detail will be essential. In this role you will be responsible for: Obtaining and reviewing necessary forms from employees and training facilitators. Monitoring and following up to obtain documentation to ensure timely processing or to meet legal/procedural requirements. Completing forms and entering data into a variety of human resources related systems and databases. Reviewing data to ensure completeness and accuracy according to applicable rules and policies. Identifying and correcting data or proposing corrective actions. Determining what is appropriate to enter into the HRIS to achieve desired results. Completing administrative functions in the Workday online training calendar, ensuring accuracy of training data and providing technical assistance and training to department liaisons and other subject matter experts, including resolving technical issues with Workday as they arise. Researching, compiling, and summarizing confidential data to support human resources programs/functions, and training; perform standard analyses as directed. Respond to questions from managers, supervisors and employees regarding state certification requirements, collective bargaining agreements, or personnel rules. Human Resource personnel file maintenance. This includes alphabetizing and adding hard copy documents to the correct personnel file. Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*: Equivalent to an Associate's degree with major course work in a related field. In lieu of a degree, we will consider equivalent related working experience, training and/or practical experience. Three years of increasingly responsible administrative support experience. Must pass a thorough background investigation, which includes being fingerprinted on the first day of employment. Must be able to travel to various offices/buildings throughout Multnomah County in a timely fashion.
