GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: You are responsible for the creation, maintenance, and breakdown of compelling visual displays to drive sales. You will work closely with multiple functions within the Retail team, manager all floor moves and work in tandem with the VM Senior Manager. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Design, implement and maintain a creative visual merchandising strategy to enhance The Met’s guest experience. Deliver impactful and creative merchandising to generate interest and benefit sales within the set schedule. Manage and execute the merchandising of the sales floor and brief the staff on the changes. Work 80% of your time on the sales floor updating and maintaining all visual aspects of the Met stores. Install displays to promote new marketing initiatives, product launches and festive and seasonal themes. Maintain and update all the new and existing signage for Met products and marketing. Problem solves with the team members and build cross functional relationships. Act in alignment with The Met’s culture, products, image and target market. Research retail and lifestyle creative trends to make creative display, design, and product merchandising to achieve key objectives. Collaborate with the Marketing team in regards to styling images for catalog and email content. Maintain the visual workroom and storage spaces. Work with team members, building cross functional relationships to support the delivery of each project to its best possible outcome. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Art School (or Visual trade school) training. 4 years' experience as a visual merchandiser. Demonstrated knowledge and passion for Art History Flexibility to work off hour’s schedule. Proficient in MS office. COMPENSATION RANGE: Pay Range: $72,000 - $80,000 The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors. Location Requirements At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
