Position Description: As an iOS developer in Digital Health you will be responsible for bringing Lilly’s Digital products and software solutions to life, this includes helping design mobile solutions to put in to patients hands working closely with our user centered design team collaborate on the best balance of technology and user experience to meet our product goals. You will also be entering the team at a stage with opportunities to help shape the development process in conjunction with peers to create a high performing operation that is responsive to both business and patient needs leveraging the best of what mobile technology has to offer. Responsibilities: Design and build iOS applications for Apple mobile platforms Use object-oriented development principles in Swift to reach project solutions Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation Work and collaborate effectively on a team including remote team members Regularly maintain iOS applications via debugging and continuous updates Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related discipline. Professional experience delivering software solutions that span the development life cycle; i.e., project initiation, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and retirement. 5 years of experience in mobile app development Strong Swift, iOS SDK, or Objective-C programming experience Prior experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Additional Skills/Preferences: A fleshed-out portfolio of software development projects Expertise with Object Oriented Programming, multithreading, data serialization and REST APIs Familiarity with MVVM and other architectural patterns Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features Proficient with Swift and Cocoa Touch Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications Can write, perform, or automate unit tests Knack for benchmarking and optimization Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Familiarity with continuous integration (CI/CD) Knowledge related to publishing on the Play Store Experience working with and implementing Bluetooth based solutions Experience implementing solutions using more advanced iOS platform features including the use Apple Core ML, Augmented reality solutions and voice-based solutions Experience developing and/or supporting Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions. Demonstrated ability to “live in the gray space” -- when process and direction does not dictate an ideal course of action – and make reasonable, risk-based decisions that keep projects on track. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team building skills. Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and how to effectively deliver software within the processes and expectations of those systems. Practical knowledge of Agile software development concepts and associated implementations. High level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest Previous experience working in the Pharmaceutical Industry and/or environments regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration.
