Position Overview The Analytics team in the Single-cell Biology Cluster, Precision Medicine & Computational Biology (PMCB) global research function at Sanofi, combines high-resolution single cell profiling technologies, the latest biological and pharmaceutical findings, and state-of-the-art computation and machine learning methodologies to advance drug discovery across the Sanofi. We invest in high-quality proprietary data and analytics to: (1) accelerate drug discovery through single-cell forward- and back-translation; (2) increase probability of success through cell-level insight into therapeutic hypotheses, mechanism of action, and patient response. Our efforts have achieved significant internal and external visibility and media presence. We are seeking a highly competent, independent, proactive, driven, and well-organized Senior Scientist to build on our present achievements and ensure our future success. The ideal candidate will derive professional satisfaction from: Keeping up to date with a growing body of literature and judiciously internalizing the best-performing/most useful workflows. Contributing the development of novel methods and approaches for single-cell RNA sequencing data analysis. Contributing to projects involving genomic data analysis focused on specific drug discovery/development programs. Collaborating with academic, industry, and internal partners on method development and disease-focused scientific studies. Collaborating and contributing to high-profile presentations and publications. This is a hands-on computational position, requiring quick adaptation to Sanofi single-cell computational pipelines to internalize new data upon request. S/he will be involved in development of our workflow environment for single-cell multi-omics data processing. To do so, S/he should be able to independently set up and execute complex workflows, clearly and consistently document results. S/he will have deep experience in computational biology, having frequently implemented bioinformatic tools, and have a keen eye for automating repeatable workflows. Having a team spirit attitude is essential. Qualifications Ph.D. in Computational/Systems Biology or related analytic disciplines, from a solid academic institution and/or equivalent work experience. Having postdoctoral experience is a plus, but not required. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with advanced single-cell data analysis workflows required. Expert coding skills in R and/or python. Proficiency in working with UNIX, HPC, and AWS required. Proficiency in working with Github and version control environments. A record of accomplishment, productivity, innovation, and impact (publications, patents). Familiarity with basic principles of single-cell experimental design. Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and team skills; record of success working collaboratively across disciplines. Ability to apply strong project and time management skills to lead multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
