Adventure Van Cabinet Maker

Yama Vans is a Calgary based premium adventure van manufacturer. Our mission is to help people do more of what they love with people they love by converting Mercedes Sprinters into design forward overland vehicles. We are currently looking to add a cabinet maker to our team.

This is a unique position for a cabinet maker who has strong attention to detail and obsessively high standards of quality. As a senior cabinet maker at Yama Vans, you do much more than build wooden boxes. You are involved in every aspect of constructing and finishing our vans, including:

• Building complex cabinetry from high quality materials
• Operating and maintaining a CNC router
• Shaping, scribing and upholstering wooden panels
• Installing specialized cabinet hardware and finishings
• Building and installing custom tables, shelves, various other projects

Requirements

• 2 years of cabinet making, joinery, or fine woodworking experience
• Basic understanding of CNC programming and operation
• Professional CNC experience is an asset, but not required
• Exceptionally high standards of quality
• Demonstrated strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Experience in van building or boat building is an asset, but not required
• Intermediate to advanced level of skill. 3rd and 4th year apprentices are encouraged to apply.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

Education:

• Secondary School (required)

Experience:

• cabinet making, joinery, or fine woodworking: 2 years (preferred)
