TARGet Kids! ( www.targetkids.ca ) is developing a multi-disciplinary paediatric practice-based research network of community practitioners mainly from Toronto. Under the mandate of ¿healthy children together¿, our network is collecting longitudinal medical evidence on common health problems affecting urban Canadian children, including indices of nutritional exposures, pediatric obesity, environmental exposures, and social factors.

Here¿s what you¿ll get to do:

We are¿seeking a highly motivated, organized, respectful, results-oriented Research Coordinator I¿to provide support to families navigating and coordinating placement of children in centre-based childcare programs. Reporting to the PI/Program Manager, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care for the NuRISH Trial (a pragmatic, randomized, longitudinal factorial Trials within Cohorts clinical trial).

The Research Coordinator will assist in:

  • Determining parents¿ eligibility status for subsidy
  • Assist parents in preparing for the financial meeting with their case worker
  • Locate centers and available spaces at childcare centers around parents¿ work and home
  • Ensuring parents find a space by the time the child is 12 months of age

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide resources and explain the benefits of childcare to parents in the study.
  • Be the contact and point person for parents on all matters related to finding childcare.
  • Collaborate with the centre-based staff members to execute successful placement of children in childcare spaces.
  • Work with identified childcare providers around the city of residence to ensure successful placement of childcare.
  • Maintain and ensure confidentiality and accuracy for required databases.
  • Provide updates to the research team by attending meetings and preparing oral and written reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience
  • Knowledge of centre-based childcare system
  • Experience working on a research study and maintaining confidentiality
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, exudes positive energy and enthusiasm
  • Strong effective written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
