COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY
The Community Engagement Coordinator supports all members of the Community Engagement and Impact & Innovation teams, including its volunteers. This role focuses on wrap-around coordination in support of community engagement activities, Speakers Bureau, and collective impact strategies such as Huddle Manitoba. During the annual campaign season, the role has a primary focus on the Speakers Bureau program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the role are:
- Provide logistical support for meetings: This includes scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing materials, hosting support (including room set up, tear down, and ordering food/beverages), tracking attendance, and post-meeting follow up
- Data Entry: Maintains up-to-date data re: engagement activities, meeting attendance, statistics, and evaluation results. This includes updating in United Way’s CRM, Andar
- General Administrative Support: This includes routine correspondence, processing and tracking invoices and donations, inventory management, and program-related mailouts
- Support interactive engagement activities, such as Living on the Edge and Brain Architecture Game, through rebuilding the activity kits and supporting events as needed
- Speakers Bureau: During campaign season, coordinating the Speakers Bureau will be the priority function. This includes:
- Coordinating all speaking engagements and agency visits in a timely manner, including monitoring requests, and matching appropriate speaker/agency to the request
- Proactive relationship management and customer service with speakers, workplace representatives, and colleagues
- Problem-solving
- Regular updates
- Volunteer support: Work collaboratively with volunteers to ensure that all stakeholders have meaningful experiences that lead them to be confident and passionate ambassadors of United Way of Winnipeg
- Support team and department priorities: Work collaboratively with other members of your department and teams to implement a departmental plan that aligns with the organization’s Strategic Plan and budget. Actively participate in team and department meetings
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate as a member of the bargaining unit, specifically Unifor and its Local 191
- Assist others in the organization through activities such as:
- Switchboard relief
- Special projects like the annual Celebration and Annual General Meeting
QUALIFICATIONS
You are a detail-oriented team player who is dedicated to making Winnipeg a better place to live. You also possess the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:
- Administrative Assistant/Office Administration certificate and two years’ related experience or some equivalent combination
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Intermediate computer software experience (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and data entry)
- Exceptional organizational skills, with particular attention to detail
- Respectful of confidentiality
- Ability to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, changing environment and manage several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, to take initiative and demonstrate imagination and resourcefulness
