Qualifications:
- Completion of the tenth (10th) school grade supplemented by one year experience in the operation of equipment assigned to the position or an equivalent combination of training and experience - Possession of a valid Alberta Class 3 License with air brake certificate, including eligibility to obtain a City driver’s permit is required. The successful candidate will be required to submit a current driver's abstract. - Standard First Aid training is required - WHMIS and Chainsaw Training is considered an asset - Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices and rules of the safe operation of the assigned equipment and occupational hazards applicable to the work. Must have the required competency to perform work safely. May be tested to ensure skill level is acceptable - Tree maintenance experience and International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certification are considered assets - Good knowledge of the methods and practices used in servicing and maintaining the equipment - Ability to respond to inquiries/complaints in a manner that is polite and sensitive to the needs of the public - Ability to complete time cards, daily work records and interpret work assignments - Physical strength and agility sufficient to perform the work of this position - Willingness to work in all weather conditions - Related duties will be assigned as required - Demonstrate alignment with the Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, fostering an environment for others to do the same.
