Health and Safety Coordinator – ICI Construction

Ritestart Limited is a COR™ Certified General Contractor in the ICI sector and is looking for a qualified, knowledgeable, adaptable individual looking to kick start their career in the Construction Industry within Health and Safety as a Health and Safety Coordinator. Based out of Burlington, Ontario we specialize in renovations, retrofits, new builds, and additions in the industrial/commercial/institutional sectors.

In this position, you will report to the Health and Safety Manager.

Your day-to-day activities will consist of:

• Maintaining health and safety record keeping
• Responsible for regularly conducting on-site inspections, assessing risks and compliance on-site
• Collecting and ensuring Superintendent daily, weekly, and monthly documentation has been submitted as required
• Preparing project start-up documentation including emergency response plans, violence risk assessments, Notice of Project, etc.
• Maintaining required subcontractor Health and Safety documentation
• Participate and record meeting minutes of JHSC meetings
• Maintaining health and safety inventory
• Provide or assist with the coordination of onboarding, orientation, and training for all employees
• Provide support and act as a resource for all site staff and the health and safety department
• Ensure planned site and office inspections are being completed and provide follow-up
• Assist with the implementing and updating of health and safety policies and programs according to legislation
• Assist with COR internal and external audits
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate to possess the following:

• Health and Safety related diploma/degree program with at least 2 semesters completed.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication, and technical abilities

License/Certification:

• Class G Drivers License (required)

Senior and Intermediate staff are mandated to work with junior staff to mentor and encourage growth.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
