We are committed to assisting low-income individuals work toward better health and welfare for their pets through accessible programs and resources. Our programs include a Pet Food Bank, Safekeeping program, and Education programs.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Part-Time Event Coordinator. The Event Coordinator will play a crucial role in representing our organization at various events and festivals, coordinating volunteers, and managing event logistics. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on animal welfare while gaining valuable experience in event coordination and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate volunteers for events, including recruitment, scheduling, and training.
• Represent the organization at festivals and community events by setting up and managing booths.
• Engage with event attendees to promote awareness of our charity’s mission and programs.
• Coordinate the setup and takedown of event displays, ensuring a professional and visually appealing presentation.
• Assist with the development and implementation of event plans and strategies to maximize outreach and impact.
• Sell pet-related items from our pop-up thrift store, You Thrifty Animal, at events, ensuring accurate transactions and excellent customer service.
• Maintain inventory of event materials and supplies, and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Provide support to the Marketing and Communications team by collecting content and photos from events for social media and promotional materials.
• Drive Parachutes for Pets’ vehicles to transport event materials to and from venues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations during events.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in event coordination or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
• Proactive and resourceful problem solver, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving abstract.
• Passion for animal welfare and commitment to Parachutes for Pets’ mission.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
