We are looking for a Human Resource Coordinator (Co-op) to join our team of dedicated HR professionals to provide high quality generalist support across various teams within the HR function. This role will provide an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking to gain experience across all areas of HR and learn from subject matter experts in a supportive and collaborative work environment within a purpose-driven organization. In addition to coordination support, you will partner with HR leads on key initiatives related to recruitment, onboarding and the implementation of new or updated HR programs.


Please note: this is a 1 year work term (Flexible start date)


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on end-to-end recruitment support including screening resumes, phone screens, conducting employee reference/background checks and managing pre-onboarding communication.
  • Assist with the onboarding program coordination for new hires.
  • Support and assist in the development and implementation of new or updated HR programs.
  • Assist in the coordination of learning programs, participants and trainers, and maintain inventory of training materials.
  • Proactively identify challenges, research and recommend new ways to increase efficiencies and streamline processes, while contributing to the optimization and enhancement of our internal processes.
  • Provide support to HR Team as required.

Qualifications:


  • Currently attending a Human Resources post-secondary program or recent graduate
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System considered an asset
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills
  • Team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationships
  • Self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadlines
