General Labourer

Looking for a general laborer to work a 2 month contract supporting a wonderful retirement community in Fernwood, Victoria BC.

The position is a temporary Contract working Tuesdays to Fridays during daytime hours (8-5pm) only.

Pay starts at 26$ per hour

About the job:

As a general laborer supporting the building, we are looking for someone who has "handyman" skills in a number of areas. Duties may include:

• sorting stock/ supplies in storage area
• assisting with lifting and repositioning items up to 50lbs
• loading and taking out facility sized garbage bins
• power washing
• paint touch-ups
• applying plaster to drywall
• hanging photographs/ curtains
• changing various styles of lightbulbs
• safe use of ladders
• minor cleaning

The Ideal candidate would possess the following:

• Previous experience in general labor, construction, or a related field is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and objects
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is advantageous.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and a commitment to following them at all times.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as required.
