Make an impact with our Technology – Cyber Security Team as a Cyber Security summer intern. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the cyber security operations team on daily tasks to ensure the functionality of security systems
• Respond promptly to user requests submitted via ServiceNow tickets, addressing inquiries related to existing security controls
• Participate in small-scale projects, including data reconciliation in Excel workbooks, scripting tasks, and documentation of standard security operations procedures
• Monitor security alerts, conduct initial triage to assess severity, and escalate incidents as necessary to the security team
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of MNP’s services, business operations, and industry standards

Skills and Experience

• Currently enrolled in full-time studies with a post-secondary institution in a Bachelor of Computer Science or Bachelor of Software Engineering with a focus in Cyber Security
• Intending to return to full-time studies after the summer internship
• Demonstrates knowledge and good understanding of common IT services, such as DNS, proxy, firewall, IPS/IDS is considered an asset
• Familiarity with Windows operating system, the process tree, Windows EventViewer, Powershell and Windows CLI commands and Active Directory is considered an asset
• Scripting skills in Powershell and Python is considered an asset
