Job Description: Program Manager
Position: Full time
LiftOff is an initiative designed to empower the Black community in Canada through three main focus areas: Entrepreneurship, Community Engagement, and Investment; these three pillars serve as the building blocks of LiftOff. The Program Manager at LiftOff will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of our Entrepreneurship Program. This role requires a dynamic leader with experience in program management, a passion for fostering innovation within the Black community, and a commitment to empowering entrepreneurs. The Program Manager will work closely with participants, coaches, mentors, and stakeholders to ensure the program's success.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Management
- Design, develop, and implement Entrepreneurship Programs in alignment with LiftOff’s mission and goals.
- Oversee the program's day-to-day operations, ensuring all activities are executed on time and within budget.
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new cohort businesses into the program in close collaboration with Venture Coaches
- Working closely with Venture Coaches and Mentors to understand critical needs and goals of the cohort businesses
Participant Support
- Serve as the program participant's primary point of contact, providing guidance and support throughout their entrepreneurial journey.
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and networking events to enhance participant learning and engagement.
- Monitor and evaluate participant progress, providing feedback and resources as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build relationships with mentors, industry experts, and key stakeholders to enrich the program offerings.
- Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to attract and recruit participants.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, funders, and the community to highlight program achievements and secure ongoing support.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor program coordinators, interns, and volunteers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment and address any challenges or opportunities.
Evaluation and Reporting
- Develop and implement evaluation metrics to measure program impact and effectiveness.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key outcomes and areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in program management, preferably in an entrepreneurship or innovation-focused setting.
- Experience working with Black communities and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Black entrepreneurs.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate program needs.

- Highly self-directed – ability to get things done with limited direction
- Willingness to travel occasionally for conferences, meetings, and events.
