Job Posting for Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at Kumon West Vancouver

The Kumon West Vancouver Centre is looking for a part-time Administrative Assistant. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate excellent professionalism, organizational skills and communication abilities. The Administrative Assistant manages the Centre’s day-to-day operations and provide a welcoming, informative and respectful presence at site. The position entails assisting the Kumon Instructor in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Communicate with parents and students to establish positive customer relationships
  • Manage Centre calls, emails, website and social media platforms
  • Ability to conduct orientation and placement tests for any potential clients
  • Supervise and instruct part-time staff
  • Update student record books, files, and Centre inventory
  • Report to the Instructor
  • Manage client records and payment files
  • Manage the Centre day-to-day operation and product monthly reports
  • Other duties as assigned, including teaching/supervising students' work

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable working with children.
  • Must be proficient in English
  • University diploma/degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
  • Must produce Criminal Record Check clearance.

The role is part-time from Monday to Thursday from 12:00pm to 6:30pm.

Salary: $20-$25 an hour

Abilities and knowledge:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and with others effectively.
  • Proficient in computer skills, especially in Microsoft Work, Microsoft Excel, Zoom platforms, etc.
  • Time management and prioritization
  • Clerical/Administrative and/or customer service experience preferred*

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • West Vancouver, BC V7T 1G1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (required)

Experience:

  • Front desk: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

  • English (required)
