KML Windows Inc., a division of Andersen Corporation, is currently seeking a Custom Products Drafter I. This is a full-time position responsible to create and modify CAD models and specifications for grille placement, customer approval and other CAD needs for delivery partners and customers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Applies CAD expertise and knowledge in the creation and delivery of product drawings for use by manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners and end use customers.
· Works closely with Customer Service Representatives, RTQ&E, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Suppliers and customers to define requirements and provide timely and accurate solutions
· Engages in contact with manufacturing, vendors, delivery partners and end use customers to discuss process flow and product issues
· Conducts effective verbal and graphical communications to facilitate customer understanding of, and satisfaction with, the product solutions presented
· Participate in the development and ongoing maintenance of the team’s CAD drafting standards, documentation processes and document storage methods
· Stays abreast of current CAD and architectural technologies and prioritizes their application to Andersen’s CAD support services.
· Review key performance indicators and recommend adjustments.
· Other duties as assigned by supervisor
· Represents the team by proactively securing and reinforcing customer relationships and process improvement opportunities in alignment with department strategies.
· Participate in training sessions related to customer service, product, process, and technical capability
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
o Associate of Science Degree with a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in drafting or related area of work.
o High School Diploma with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience, or Andersen Product Knowledge preferred
o Basic Inventor CAD Skills
o Basic Design fundamentals
o Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
o Microsoft Project Management tools
Additional Qualifications
o Associate degree in drafting preferred.
o Experience in an engineering or research environment acquired through a course of specialized study (typically, a two-year degree program) or equivalent on the job training and work.
o Experience demonstrates a strong interest and basic aptitude to work in a technical or scientific field
o Experience with CAD, PC and software applications.
