Job Posting for Ground Survey Technician at Kîsik Aerial Survey
Position: Ground Survey Technician
Looking for entry level graduates (training will be provided) and experienced/established professionals. Will require driving company survey vehicle / campervan in remote locations across BC collecting data in support of airborne operations.
Job duties
Operate GNSS terrestrial survey equipment.
Locate existing BC benchmark monuments.
Establish and maintain a network of existing Ground control points for airborne surveys.
Document work and findings from the field and communicate with the project manager.
Organize measurements and records. Perform basic data processing.
Drive a company vehicle to and from the site.
Maintain and calibrate terrestrial survey equipment.
Work Environment
While in the field, work will be primarily outdoors across BC and Canada.
In the field, employer will provide transportation, accommodation, and food.
In the busy months, technician will spend extended periods in the field on survey missions (up to 2 weeks).
While in the office, work will be based out of our facilities at Boundary Bay Airport, BC
Job is seasonal, with intensive work in the summer and extended time off in the winter.
Education
Completion of a one- to two-year college program in geomatics, GIS or land survey technology.
