About the role
We are currently seeking a Manager, Artificial Intelligence for our Intact Data Lab!
What you’ll do here:

Lead the development of an engaged software engineering team, focusing on talent recruitment, fostering engagement, and encouraging professional development.

Continually evolve engineering practices in the field of Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with your software engineering team.

Implement and refine tools and processes to enhance team autonomy and efficiency, while providing necessary training and coaching.

Balance project needs and resource development through intelligent planning of human resources in software engineering.

Manage AI-centric projects, aligning with the organization’s strategies, priorities, and constraints.

Work closely with the Product Owner to define project scope, objectives, and increments, providing leadership and vision throughout.

Coordinate activities and dependencies across different project teams, managing risks, proposing mitigation measures, and communicating project KPIs.

Ensure the solution meets client expectations and complies with Intact's security and governance standards, while also ensuring impacts and infrastructure requirements are well-identified and optimized.
What you bring to the table:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience, with at least 3-5 of those years leading a data engineering team, focusing on data architecture, data modeling, data pipeline development, and data management for model training and deployment.

A strong leader who is intellectually curious, interested in driving AI initiatives (including GenAI), and able to align technical expertise with business needs to deliver value.

Experience in coaching and developing technical teams, providing inspiration and fostering growth.

Demonstrated ability to manage and execute data engineering components of AI projects effectively, delivering results on time and within budget.

Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, and a thorough understanding of scalable data architectures. Must have excellent knowledge of PySpark, SQL, Python, Databricks, and Snowflake.

Familiar with data governance and data quality management concepts.

A team player, fostering collaboration and creativity in an open and honest environment.

Strong problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Comfortable working in constantly evolving complex environments and multidisciplinary teams.

Bilingual (French and English): Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
