Hotel Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Holiday Inn Ottawa East is seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
• Inspect hotel facilities and equipment regularly to identify issues.
• Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
• Assist in the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
• Participate in emergency response operations as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
• Previous experience in hotel maintenance.
• Knowledge of energy management systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
