Position Summary
Reporting to the Sanitation manager the evening shift custodian is responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of the plant with a heavy focus on health and safety. The Custodian will perform a range of duties, including, laundry, mopping, sweeping, waxing floors, vacuuming, and maintaining cleanliness of the facility. The custodian is also responsible for performing routine inspections to check that spaces like restrooms are always sanitary and fully stocked.
Responsibilities
Responsible for cleaning throughout the building
Cleans floors and rooms, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, running floor scrubbers picking up objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows.
Cleans restrooms, and cafeterias including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors
Washes, Dries, sorts, and puts away uniform pieces in designated area
Vacuums, empties trash, and replaces liners
Monitors and maintains sanitation and organization of assigned areas.
Performs additional duties as needed.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Knowledge of working in a manufacturing/industrial setting is an asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and consistently changing environment
Must be self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team
Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
Experience with cleaning equipment such as vacuums’ floor buffers and cleaning solutions
Background in handling, mixing and using cleaning chemicals
Excellent manual dexterity
Strong physical endurance
Ability to stand; walk; for long periods of time
