We are currently seeking a Project Manager - Excess Soils to join our Ecology team in Vaughan, ON!

Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of multiple projects within the organization. This position will be responsible for managing the project from start to finish in order to meet or exceed project deadlines. The Project Manager will also be responsible for creating and updating project documentation, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that the project is managed in a timely manner. The Project Manager will also be responsible for assisting with the development of new projects, as well as assisting with existing projects that may require additional attention.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee technical staff involved in the sampling of materials in accordance with Ontario Regulation 406/19. When necessary, provide field and sampling support in accordance with O.Reg 406/19.
  • Complete review of reports required under Ontario Regulation 406/19.
  • Creation of reports required under O.Reg 406/19.
  • Provide oversight of digital soil tracking.
  • Collaborate with management team and other QPs.
  • Provide training and mentorship opportunities for junior staff. Open to training, cross-training and supporting alternative GEMS teams.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all GEMS processes, policies and standard operating procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Foster and participate in a Health & Safety culture.
  • Maintain training, qualifications and professional designation(s), as required.
  • Provide support to contractors at time of tender and during construction.
  • Any other reasonable activity required by management/leadership.
  • Develop and update project documentation
  • Work with various departments to ensure that projects remain on schedule and on track.
  • Assist with the development of new projects, as well as assisting with existing projects that may require additional attention.

Education & Experience:

  • P.Geo/P.Eng designation or eligible to apply for P.Geo. designation is considered an asset.
  • Post Graduate Degrees considered an asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with Environmental Site Assessment work and understanding of O.Reg. 153/04 and/or O.Reg 406/19.
  • Valid G Driver’s License.
  • Proficient in MS software.
  • Experience writing proposals and creating budgets.
  • Experience working around heavy machinery
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for extended time periods.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
