Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, F&B Manager or Casino Shift Manager, this position is responsible for greeting and seating guests with the strictest regard to rules, regulations and outlet operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members This position may be performed in a restaurant, bar and grill, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a special event, or other areas. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Greet guests by name wherever possible
Seat guests in accordance with seating chart, number of servers and fair distribution of tables, provides menus; advises guests of daily or weekly specials
Assigns pager s and documents wait list according to departmental procedures and guidelines
Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared (if applicable)
Assists with cleaning tables or counters; removes dishes and re-stocks when re quired
Performs opening or closing duties as required
Maintains accurate records, wait lists and reservations
Answers telephone, directs calls to appropriate venue, checks phone messages and returns any calls required
Ensures table availability through communication with bussing and serving staff; maximizes seating arrangements
Processes guests take out orders accordingly including; entering order into the POS, applying an applicable discounts, accepting payment for order, packaging the order when it is ready ensuring all items, accessories and condiments are included & presenting the guest with their completed take out order when ready
Performs cashier duties; counts cash float a t end of shift and processes the Cage and Audit drops according to stated procedures
Breaks serving and bar staff in accordance with their detailed position descriptions when called upon in times of high volumes working as a team
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Communicates effectively with guests waiting to be seated regarding their remaining wait time
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education And Qualifications
High School Diploma; Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education an asset
Minimum 1 year food and beverage experience
POS experience
Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal record check
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Work Environment Considerations
Regular casino, restaurant or bar environment, standing and walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors; some exposure to verbal abuse, non-traditional work hours
