Carpenter or Assistant Carpenter

Job opportunity at Grand Shore Contracting for a Carpenter or Assistant Carpenter.

Home renovation company, looking to hire a responsible employee with construction experience. We can be flexible with scheduling, it's never an issue to take a day off. Part time or full time positions are available.

**Carpenter apprentices are welcome to apply, as they will be working with a red seal Carpenter and we are registered with Carpenter apprenticeship programs.

Requirements:

-***Must have experience with Framing and drywall. This is not an entry level position.

- Experience with finishes preferred.

-Reliable, non-smoking preferred, on time, good work ethic, capable of learning new skills quickly, have an interest in home renovations and carpentry, be dependable, take direction well, be able to work on your own with minimal supervision, be respectful and professional. We are looking for professionals who want to advance and be part of a team in a growing company. Advancements to site supervisors possible.

Requirements:

-Completion of high school. College or other secondary education considered an asset.

-Valid driver’s license. Vehicle/Transportation. Carpooling is often available but you will have to drive or find rides to sites on your own sometimes. We offer paid mileage.

-Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and supplies and using power tools.

-Experience in home construction, renovation, or carpentry.

-Full time or part time can be arranged.

Work Duties includes: Framing, Trim work, Demolition, Heavy tool use, Flooring, Painting, Dry wall, and other related construction work. Projects vary from small remodels to sub-contracting for large custom home jobs.

Project locations: Our company provides services in Orillia, Barrie, Muskoka, Georgian Bay and surrounding areas. Day travel is common.

Pay is $21-$27 an hour to start depending on experience.
