About the role:
Glencore Copper’s North American Closed Sites (NACS) consists of numerous legacy assets across Canada and the US and we are looking for a dynamic individual to join us as the Advisor, Copper Management Systems and Health & Safety Assurance. In this role you will focus on supporting the implementation of the integrated management system (CMS) and annual assurance activities for NACS. The position has a strong focus on Management of Change that requires excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and will play a crucial role in fostering cultural change and promoting stakeholder engagement across the organization.
More specifically, you will be tasked with:
- Review and provide input into draft CMS standards, ensuring requirements can be practically met and that the translated standards have maintained intent of the requirements.
- Develop and implement a NACS engagement and change management strategy for the CMS in line with the Copper Department CMS strategy to support the cultural change.
- Promote awareness through ongoing coaching, training and support to site teams, from senior leadership to frontline personnel, on the CMS.
- Coordinate and support the completion of CMS standard maturity assessments and risk-based improvement plans across NACS.
- Support and govern the implementation of the CMS across NACS and provide assurance that compliance to the Standards has been achieved/maintained.
- Support NACS to ensure the CMS is integrated into business strategy, processes, and practices s with the CMS requirements.
- Monitoring and report progress of CMS related actions.
- Monitoring CMS related training requirements for the employees and contractors that operate on North American Closed Sites.
- Review and provide input into Copper Assurances annual plan ensuring that the plan is suitable for NACS.
- Facilitates scheduling of assurances for all NACS.
- Closely monitors assurance findings and actions in designated action tracker.
- Upon request will provide findings/actions status updates to key stakeholders.
- Ensure NACS maintains compliance in SafeWork 2.0 by closing out assurance findings and actions prior to due date.
Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as geological or mining engineering, Health and Safety
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in technological strategy, innovation or related sectors, preferably in mining or related sectors.
- The candidate must have strong communication, ability to work in a team setting and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver technological innovation projects.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on achieving results.
