What you get to do:

  • Work with knuckle picker trucks;
  • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads, in order to ensure safety of workers and materials;
  • Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability;
  • Driving to and from client sites, and complete training to operate knuckle picker;
  • Tilt, dip and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques;
  • Install ground rigging;
  • Align, level and anchor machinery;
  • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand tools, power tools, hydraulic tools, mag drills etc.
  • Fabricate, set up and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists and pulling gear, using hand and power tools;
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment;
  • Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts. Wash equipment as requested by Supervisor;
  • Follows and complies with all internal company’s safety guidelines, policies and procedures;
  • Perform pre and post trip safety inspections;
  • Perform pilot operation for oversize loads;
  • Manually load and unload trucks and trailers;
  • Organize client yards and other facilities.

What we’re looking for:

  • Must have Air Brakes Endorsement; or willing to obtain as part of employment

· Previous knuckle picker truck experience is considered an asset

· Picker rigging practices and load securement experience would be an asset

· Experienced in using OHS hand signals for spotting mobile cranes and mobile equipment

  • Familiarity with automatic and manual transmission

· Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing

· Valid Driver’s License

· Clean Driver’s Abstract

· Common Safety Orientation

· CSTS-2020 Ticket

· WHMIS 2015 Ticket

  • Standard First Aid with AED (Level C)
  • Valid H2S Alive Ticket (Energy Safety Canada version preferred)

· Invested in a safety-oriented work environment

· Ability to navigate work sites and adapt to daily changes in scopes of work
