Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Provide individualized attention and support to each child
- Collaborate with parents and families to ensure the best possible care and education for children
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development
- Follow all licensing regulations and guidelines
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Certification
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage classroom activities and materials
- Proficiency in computer skills to utilize educational software and track student progress
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, theories, and practices
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Leadership abilities to guide and supervise assistant teachers or aides
- Experience working with children with special education needs is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is an asset
