Job Description
Reporting to the Manager SAP Solution Planning & Delivery, the Lead ERP Application Specialist (QA Lead) will be responsible to lead and perform QA related activities for the assigned capital projects and operational initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
- Create Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Data in test environment and defect management for usability, functionality, and performance testing.
- Liaise with the business stakeholders, project managers, technical and functional resources for all QA and test activities.
- Verify and validate applications and documentation based on standards for Software Development and effective QA implementation in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Leads IT initiatives by following the systems development life cycle (SDLC) approach and successfully manages all the phases of initiation, planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the Enterprise applications.
- Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Plans and implements upgrades, new releases, new functionality, and deployment of Enterprise Applications Systems to new business units.
- Prepares documentation detailing the processes followed in the Enterprise Applications Systems and assists in the establishment of policies and procedures.
- Plans and develops short- and long-term work packages.
- Participates, investigates, and coordinates the response to the annual internal and external audit and ensures compliance with audit complaint processes.
- Develops and submits performance indicators and standards for the section to measure operational effectiveness, customer satisfaction and to establish employee objectives. Monitors customer service feedback as appropriate.
- Prepares work estimates, status reports as required for sponsors, managers and/or senior management team.
- Plans, establishes priorities, monitors, and adjusts work to accomplish goals impacting the City's divisions including projects that affect the City's operation, Agencies, Boards and Commissions as required through new implementations or upgrades.
- Establishes corporate standards and maintains the Enterprise Applications Systems.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with division personnel by providing advice and guidance on the use of the Enterprise Applications Systems.
- Ensures integrity and security of City's confidential data, records, reports, and sensitive information in accordance with corporate policy and SAP standards.
- Coordinates the unit's operations related to Enterprise Applications Systems maintenance.
- Oversees the analysis, validates and the documentation of business and system requirements.
Conducts and leads the workshops to formalize designs. Modifies and creates business processes that will be used to implement the business transformation solutions, thorough review of research and fact-finding combined with understanding of applicable business processes, systems, and industry requirements.

Key Qualifications:
Your application for the role of Lead ERP Application Specialist (SAP QA Lead) should describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, or a related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Considerable experience of Quality assurance initiatives and QA testing strategies and methodologies applicable to activities in all phases of testing (unit, functional, integration, system, regression, security, performance, and user acceptance testing).
- Experience in a software testing lead role for IT projects in application management, implementation of infrastructure solutions or system lifecycle management using PM methodologies and tools.
- Experience in gathering business requirements and creating Requirement Traceability Documents.
- Experience of SAP tools and methodologies, such as: ASAP Methodology, Agile, and SAP Solution Manager (Project Management, Change Management/Charm, Service Request Management, Incident Management).
- Experience in Project Management during all stages of complex IT projects, with emphasis on financial management, estimating resources, critical path identification and successful project delivery in a large, diverse computing environment.
- Experience using MicroFocus ALM or related QA tools to create the Test Plan and Test lab and to generate Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) is an asset.
- Experience supporting the development of quality assurance standards, DevSecOps and testing plans is an asset.
- Knowledge of SAP modules such as Business Warehouse (BW), Business Intelligence (BI), SAP Analytics on Cloud, and S/4 Hana will be considered as an asset.
- Ability to understand, analyze and triage the daily defect status to the Project Management Office and Stakeholders.
- Ability to provide guidance and expertise to resolve SAP support inquiries with the SAP support team.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to effectively lead meetings, motivate the development team, & create effective documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective consulting relationships with corporate clients and vendors, using a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to supervise, coaching, train and provide work direction to other project staff effectively, as well as appraise work outcomes and quality accurately and fairly as input to the reporting manager
- Familiarity with government legislation in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Ability to work smoothly and successfully with people of varied experience, skill levels, technical and business savvy, and personality type.
