RESPONSIBILITIES
Our organization is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to work in our office in Corner Brook, NL. The successful candidate will report to the Human Resources Manager and will develop and execute Human Resources programs in support of the organization’s overall business objectives. The Generalist will work in all areas of human resources with a focus on recruitment, employee and labour relations, payroll and benefits administration. The Generalist will also be willing to assist other areas of our local operation when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE An undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. A minimum of five (5) years of human resources work experience in mining, or a related industry. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with all levels in the organization and maintain discretion regarding confidential information. The person we are seeking must be self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of urgency in the performance of their duties. They must be highly organized and work effectively with shifting priorities and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. The ideal candidate must possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills; have experience in managing in a unionized environment and have a good knowledge of Canadian and Newfoundland employment legislation. We are seeking someone who can work independently; is free to travel within the local area when needed and who can assume increasing levels of responsibility.
SALARY
Commensurate with Qualifications and experience.
