GFL Environmental seeks a Sustainability Analyst to support our ESG data management process and the advancement of our sustainability action plan. The role centers on coordinating and overseeing data collection and processing for ESG metrics and sustainability key performance indicator (KPI) forecasting to support sustainability in operations and for disclosures. Our ideal candidate combines their technical skills in sustainability and data management with innovation and critical thinking. Furthermore, the role will play an integral part in advancing GFL's ESG software and reporting platforms. This entails harmonizing assorted data sources and existing product platforms into a cohesive, transparent, and robust data set for reporting, trending, and tracking KPIs. Responsibilities -Actively engage and collaborate with internal teams to collect ESG data - Quantification, and analysis of GHG emissions and other ESG metrics - Gather and synthesize abstract and complex datasets and concepts to support discrete insights - Contribute to drafting content and reports for internal and external stakeholders - Support developing and implementing software solutions to address dynamic internal needs, focusing on measuring and tracking sustainability-related performance - Support the development and implementation of projects related to GFL's Sustainability Action Plan - Support process improvement pertaining to ESG data capture and reporting - Other duties as directed Requirements - Working experience with calculating greenhouse gas emissions, preferably direct experience working with the GHG Protocol and corporate GHG inventories - 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in sustainability; data analytics a plus - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Data Science, or a related field - Postgraduate degree and/or sustainability-related designation would be valued - High level of competency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required. - Experience with PowerBI and other Microsoft products would be valued. - Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential Desired Skills And Personal Attributes - Demonstrated understanding and interest in sustainability and climate change, and a passion for making a difference - Interest in the waste management sector and circular economy - Demonstrated ability to work within an organization to gather data and drive collaboration across functions - Experience in data analytics and visualization - Excellent attention to detail and organization with strong problem-solving, prioritization skills, and time management - Tenacity to deliver data and analysis for key reporting deadlines - Research, trend analysis, technical writing, and presentation skills - Leadership skills, project coordination, and ability to work well in teams We thank you for your interest.
