Job description

Scope:

Prepare, arrange and serve breakfast food and beverage to guests in a friendly and professional manner following Best Western Quality Standards as well as London Middlesex Health and Safety Standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain restaurant for complimentary hot breakfast buffet.
  • Prepare and maintain hot and cold food items for use on the breakfast buffet.
  • Maintain proper inventory control and ensures that all items are ordered through the approved suppliers.
  • Serve, maintain, tidy, and clean breakfast buffet during breakfast hours.
  • Set and reset tables as and when required.
  • Ensure high standards by following Best Western service standards
  • Exceed customer expectations by anticipating service needs.
  • Organize motions to maximize the efficiency of set-up and service.
  • Ensure creativity of buffet and day-to-day guest special needs.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following all work practices.
  • Follow food safety and handling procedures and compliance regulations as outlined by hotel standards and federal, provincial, and local laws.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and security policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and federal, provincial, and local laws.
  • Maintain superior standards of quality, service, and cleanliness in the restaurant, kitchen, and service area.
  • Consistently maintain a neat, organized, and clean workspace and uniform.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to provide the best possible experience for guests, ensuring superior personalized service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by an immediate superior and/ or manager.

Qualifications:

  • Safe Food Handling Certificate (Must have)
  • WHIMIS
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of principles, values, and processes for providing superior guest service.
  • Ability to project a professional, friendly and courteous image to guests.
  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.75-$17.55 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Morning shift
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Hotel food & beverage: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safety Certification (preferred)

Work Location: In person
