Barwood Flooring is looking for a new team member with a valid G license and clean driving abstract to handle our hardwood, vinyl and laminate flooring deliveries. The position offered will entail driving a 5-ton delivery truck without air brakes, and with an automatic transmission. Deliveries will be to new construction sites across the Ottawa region including residential homes. You will be accompanied by 1-2 helpers on a daily basis depending on volume of deliveries. Your responsibilities will be to arrive at the shop (155 Colonnade Road South, Ottawa) on time each day (6:30-7:00 am) and follow a pre-routed delivery schedule in a punctual and efficient manner and reporting any issues, damages and/or shortages to the Warehouse Manager immediately. The delivery vehicle will be loaded for you each morning prior to starting your day. Your duties will include driving the 5-ton truck, delivering all materials (up to 50 lbs. per box), occasionally carrying material up stairs, displaying professionalism while on sites and in residential areas, and wearing all required protective gear (safety boots and hard hat). Hard hats and safety training will be provided by Barwood Flooring but safety boots are provided by you. Starting wage is $20.00/hr and will be reviewed once a 3-month probation period has been completed.
