Role and Responsibilities:

As Funeral Home Support Staff, you will play an integral role in ensuring the seamless operations of our funeral home and providing compassionate support to families. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Funeral Service Assistance: Collaborating with the team to set up and facilitate visitations, funeral services, memorial services, and other related events. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute to the overall success of these important occasions.
  • Deceased Care: As part of your role as Funeral Home Support Staff, you will gradually take on responsibilities that include assisting with the transfer and preparation of deceased individuals. With time and experience, you will be trained in the sensitive and essential task of dressing the deceased for services, ensuring they are respectfully prepared for their final arrangements. This hands-on experience, along with your continued commitment to the role, will enable you to grow within our organization and contribute meaningfully to the funeral home's operations.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the funeral home premises, vehicles, and parking area. Your efforts will contribute to a welcoming and respectful environment for families and guests.
  • Reception Desk: Answering incoming calls, directing inquiries to Funeral Directors, and warmly welcoming families and guests to the funeral home. You will maintain a friendly and empathetic demeanor while offering guidance and assistance to all visitors.
  • G Driver's License: Possessing a valid G Driver's License is a requirement for this role, as you may be involved in transfers from the place of death to the funeral home.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Fluent English
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Advanced customer service experience, with a strong focus on empathy and compassion.
  • Professional appearance and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility in work hours to accommodate the needs of our families.
  • Strong public speaking skills, as delivering speeches to large crowds will be part of your daily tasks.
  • Commitment to learning and growing within the organization.
  • Possession of a valid G Driver's License is mandatory.
  • Ability to maintain composure and provide support in emotionally charged situations.
