POLITICO’s premium B2B policy solutions service is looking for an entrepreneurial, results-oriented Team Leader to support the day-to-day management of the European Pro New Business team. The Team Lead must be flexible, have strong communication skills, be able to provide constructive feedback, coach and train others to get the best out of them, be able to utilize metrics for strategy and planning, and work seamlessly with multiple stakeholders. The Team Lead must be able to effectively prioritize and juggle several priorities and be a steady and reliable management presence.
This position is based at POLITICO Europe in Brussels.
What You'll Do
- Manage the POLITICO Professional Services New Business team
- Advice, support and mentor sellers.
- Support the Revenue Leadership in revenue forecast projections
- Be an active seller, own prospect relations and book revenue
Business Development:
- Reach your personal quarterly and annual sales target
- Support the New Business team to reach and exceed their targets
- Develop prospecting strategies and see through their implementation
- Coordinate lead generation efforts with marketing
- Pro-actively identify market trends and opportunities and surface them to the Revenue Leadership
Managing/Coaching:
- Conduct recurring team and 1-1 meetings with sellers
- Help coach team members on pitching, consultative selling and support them in key client meetings
- Lead the New Business sales team meetings to review key metrics, to discuss best practices and to communicate strategies
- Manage new joiner onboarding and training
- Use performance metrics to set and track pacing against goals and in developing incentives
- Provide recommendations for training, development, incentives and sales strategies as part of Revenue Management team
What You'll Need
Required qualifications:
- At least 10 years of professional experience
- Demonstrated experience in managing regional sales teams
- Experience in exceeding high sales targets and managing client relationships
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Interest, motivation and ability to effectively coach team members to bring about their personal best sales skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of Salesforce or other CRM tools
- Calm under pressure, approachable and effective, creating an environment for growth
- A higher education degree is required
- Fluent English, written and spoken, and any other European language; French or German will be a strong asset
- Interest in, and understanding of, current European political and policy issues
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with the corporate budget process, revenue target setting and forecasting
- Experience with the Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint to be used in presentations
- Gravitas and confidence, someone who can comfortably communicate with all levels of people within a business
- Outgoing nature and a can-do attitude
