About the opportunity
The School of Psychology at the University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Active Perception. The position forms part of RideauxLab and will involve conducting experimental research on active perception, with a particular interest in the influence of walking on perception.
The successful candidate will use electroencephalography, virtual reality, and AI to study how perception changes during walking. Research outcomes from the project are expected to advance understanding of active perception, in addition to potential industry and clinical applications.
Your key responsibilities will be:
to design and conduct experimental research on active perception, particularly the influence of walking on perception
applying and managing relevant ethics approvals
to manage data handling and analysis
drafting and editing manuscripts for publication
supervising and supporting junior staff and students
contributing to the day-to-day running of the laboratory.

About you

a PhD or near completion (submitted PhD) in perception or a related field
experience conducting perception research using psychophysics, neuroimaging, and/or virtual reality
a record of publication on perception or a related field
strong technical and data analysis skills coupled with excellent communications skills.
