Location: Supporting the 4 UnitingCare Hospitals; and located between The Wesley Hospital and St Andrews War Memorial Hospital - Both located in Brisbane CBD/ Surrounds.
Remuneration: $39.57 - $41/ hr 11.5% Super Not for Profit Salary Packaging

Your part in The Wesley Hospital team
Reporting to the Hospital Registration Manager, the Hospital Registration Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the clerical preadmission experience for all planned admissions and the timely & accurate recognition of patient eligibility and confirmation of details.
You will also provide leadership to a team of hospital registration officers, operating with a high degree of autonomy, seeking to resolve complex issues often outside of current policies, procedures or precedents.
You will:
  • Lead a team of hospital registration officers.
  • Lead and provide an exceptional hospital registration (clerical pre-admissions) service establishing ‘best practice’ work processes.
  • Provide supervision and strategic directions to the hospital registration team to ensure that all activities are prioritised, planned and driven to achieve set KPIs.
  • Act as the escalation point for the hospital registration team and provide guidance on the resolution of the queries / issues.
  • Management of self-funded patients or patients with restricted cover and advise as soon as practical out of pocket costs.
  • Provide estimates for hospitalisation costs in line with UCH fee schedule.
  • Monitor inbox and action and delegate queries from Practice Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Manager and deal with difficult customers. Where resolution of issues cannot be made then seek assistance from the Hospital Registration Manager.
  • Liaise with Booking Office at each hospital site for delays in theatre bookings.
  • Liaise with Service Providers to seek approval documents for admissions (Workcover, DVA, DOD & Third Parties).
  • Provide performance feedback and participate in performance reviews with the Hospital Registration Manager.
  • Seek application for ex-gratia payments from heath funds relating to robotic procedures.

  • Knowledge of online eligibility checks (OEC)
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of medical terminology at an intermediate level
Desirable
  • Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent and/or applicable experience in an Administration role or other role which demonstrates the relevant skills required.
