Position: Cardiac Scientist
Location: Bowen Hills, Brisbane, QLD

Key Responsibilities
This role is responsible for providing clinical measurement services in Cardiology and reports to the Cardiology Services Manager, with guidance and supervision from the Senior Cardiac Scientist. Some of the other specific responsibilities of the position are to:
- Work closely with the Cardiologists to ensure the production of safe, high-quality patient reports
- Contribute to the timely release of patient results to doctors and specialists
- Troubleshoot the scientific and administration processes
- Provide over-the-phone support to patients and collection centres
- Assist with performance reviews, training and clinical education
- Undertake ongoing reviews and documentation of relevant procedures
What we are looking for
To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 7) or Postgraduate qualification (AQF Level 8) in healthcare science with subjects of study specific to cardiac science, including cardiovascular anatomy, cardiovascular physiology, cardiovascular pathophysiology, cardiac pharmacology, and bioinstrumentation (medical technology). Experience in Holter Monitor Analysis will also be essential.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Accreditation with the Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists
- Membership with PiCSA
You will have high-level organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines. Your strong ability to provide high-level customer service and patient care will help you succeed in this role.
You will have:
- Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and the willingness to learn various Cardiology-specific applications
- The ability to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a team
- Sound troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
