Mackay Regional Council currently have a permanent full-time Maintenance Planning Officer opportunity available within our dynamic Property and Plant team.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out both reactive and proactive maintenance tasks for all Council buildings and facilities falling under the jurisdiction of Property Services. We are searching for candidates who possess hands-on problem-solving skills and a practical approach to addressing building maintenance issues. While a background in a trade profession is advantageous, individuals with transferable skills from various facility management, administration, asset management, and building backgrounds are welcome to apply.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Relevant Cert III trade qualification (e.g., carpenter, cabinetmaker, electrician, plumber, etc.) or equivalent qualification.
  • Current QLD “C” Class Drivers Licence, or interstate equivalent.
  • Queensland Construction Safety Blue/White Card.
  • Experience carrying out building maintenance activities.
  • Experience managing contractors.
