About The Role
Using the National Competency Based Assessment System, the Registration Assessor at Engineers Australia will evaluate the suitability of candidates applying for Stage 1, National Engineering Register (NER), State Registration eligibility report, Chartered Assessments or Competency Demonstration Report (CDR) Assessments. This role will liaise with individual applicants, referees, State/Territory Government bodies, migration agents and immigration case officers regarding assessment procedures and the progress of individual applications. The Assessor will also be responsible for maintaining detailed awareness of various assessment schemes, qualifications accredited under the Washington and Sydney Accords and general awareness of qualifications and trends in non- Accord countries.
Location
This role can be in any of our offices around Australia with a hybrid working model.
In This Role You Will
- Assess the qualifications, skills, employments, and competencies of the candidates according to Engineers Australia standards and service charters for Stage 1, NER, State Registration, Chartered and/or CDR Assessment.
- Undertake Reviews, peer reviews, panel discussions and other duties related to the assessment process.
- Participate in required professional development activities.
- Contribute to the assessment team efficiency, consistency and service delivery, this may also include administrative work related to assessments.
- Provide professional and timely feedback to technical enquiries.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding assessments and procedures.
- Generate reports that provide statistics on assigned assessment tasks.
- Use sound judgement to manage multiple tasks; articulate and focus on balancing key priorities including quality outcomes and team workloads.
- Contribute to the development, management, and implementation of procedures/processes for the assessment of Stage 1, NER, State Registration, Chartered and/or CDR Assessment;
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- You must be registered or eligible to register on Engineers Australia NER (more information - https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/Engineering-Registers/National-Engineering-Register )
- You will have a professional engineering degree, or a qualification deemed by Engineers Australia to be equivalent.
- You will have highly developed computer, analytical and communication skills both written and oral, with the capacity to assess applications and make objective decisions.
- You will be sensitive to cross-cultural differences with a proven ability to liaise both professionally and effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- You will have experience working autonomously with limited supervision.
- You will have experience on interview panels or competency-based interviews is preferred.
- You will do well in this role if you have sound knowledge of information and document management systems.
