The Company:
This team are a great events supplier in the industry and they are looking for an enthusiastic Operations Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This company creates stunning installations and show-stopping event designs for a wide variety of clients.
Position Terms: - Full-Time Permanent Role
- Working 5 days in the office, located near Sunshine
- Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 plus super depending on experience
- Weekend and outside of hours work for events when required
The Role:
The Operations Manager reports to the National Operations Director and the VIC State Manager. Working with high-end clients, the Operations Manager will be responsible for leading teams and managing bespoke build projects from the first design meeting through to bump-out.
Key Responsibilities include;
- Ensure all operations are carried out in an appropriate and cost-effective way.
- Improve operational management systems, processes, and best practices.
- Recruit and onboard new team members, with support from the HR team.
- Manage state storage facilities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, clients and partners.
- Conduct thorough site analysis and infrastructure review of client sites.
- Responsible for keeping projects on track between creative design meetings and installation, .ie.: communicating regularly with production, creative & logistics on timelines, deadlines etc.
- Oversee all project management on all jobs including:
- coordinating all costings for jobs
- coordinating all creative and production works
- tracking and coordinating production timelines
- coordinating transport and freight
- coordinating client infrastructure requirements
- collecting, recording, and sharing all site data required for production, logistics and (I&D) - Develop all schedules pre-season to ensure machinery / transport / vehicles/staffing levels are correct.
- Manage installation & dismantling projects with the Project Management Team.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have strong operational skills within the events industry, ideally on installations and site management. The ability to build and develop strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and partners is essential.
- Strong budget management skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to recruit, train and supervise staff.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use a range of different softwares and tools.
- Experience working as an Operations Coordinator or Manager within the Events Industry.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Have a creative flair and design awareness is highly desirable.
- Have a driver's licence.
- Ability to work 5 days a week in the Western Suburbs (on-site parking available).
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours for events and site visits when required.Manage installation & dismantling projects with pm team
